This is definitely something new that I haven’t seen done yet before…mixing Bollywood culture with mobile cases! I absolutely LOVE this Bollywood/sari inspired design as I love Indian culture and all the bright colors and designs. I was super excited to start the design for this one as I had two ideas in mind, to do gold over purple and then purple over gold!
When it comes to doing nail art, there’s a couple of routes you can go. There’s the free hand way in which you use small nail are brushes, then there are stamping plates that you can buy for easy-to-do nail art. Also, you can find a TON of nail art rhinestones, loose glitter and striping tape to make your mani pop all in the nail care aisle at your local drug store! That’s what I absolutely love about nail art, there are so many outlets you can take to imagine up anything you want
When I look at this beautiful purple and gold sari-inspired design, I can’t help but to think about weddings! You can’t have an Indian wedding without mehendi of course, a natural dye that is used on hands and feet to make intricate designs. I decided to free-hand paint on some simple mehendi designs that I thought would match the case, I really like both designs…what’s your preference?
Shirt and iPad Cover: Target, Skirt: The Limited, Jacket: LOTUS, Necklace: Bebe (old), Watch: Michael Kors
I am sure we can all agree that getting your picture taken when you feel like crap really sucks. Which was the case today… which is why I am not really looking at the camera at all. I got nothin’. But, committing to a having a personal style blog means that you share what you are wearing even when you don’t want to make eye contact with another living soul. I woke up miserable. Tired. Too lazy to be bothered with my hair or tucking in my shirt. I curled a few pieces of yesterdays hair, put a necklace on (in the hopes that it would do a little something for this shit show I called an outfit) and left for work. I kept my jacket on all day because I was cold… or maybe because subconsciously I was playing the role of a biker chick… full of angst and rebellion. No matter. The only thing I really had going for me today was the fact that my iPad cover is dope. It makes me happy so I thought I’d share. This cover is fun and so flippant that people who see you carrying it may assume that behind that cover you are reading Cosmo’s “10 Ways to Drive Your Man Wild” when you are really finishing up a book on the social and political ramifications of the Cold War. Keep ‘em guessing Mamacitas. Keep ‘em guessing.
I was so happy to be able to have the opportunity to design my nails based on another set of absolutely BEAUTIFUL iPhone cases from LuxMobile Group. This time, they’re offering up very unique cases for the latest release for iPhone 5. These are some of the most intricate and detailed designs I’ve ever seen on a phone case!! Some of them are based off of Bollywood themed designs, taking queues from beautiful saris and henna designs. Others that I really liked have galaxy patterns, stripes, flowers, cool geometric designs and one of my most favorites…an optical illusion! The patterns they’ve designed for the iPhone 5 are absolutely endless, and can fit almost any personality.
The first case we have is called Midnight Flight. It’s a cool, hip design with all kinds of different shades of blue. I definitely think this design stays true to it’s name, it totally reminds me of a beautiful bird ruffling up its feathers getting ready to fly into the night sky! With that in mind, I knew I had to use my peacock stamp design for my mani using a Mash plate. If you’re not familiar with Mash plates, check out their website. You can make a ton of cool designs easily using a stamping plate, a scrapper and a rubber stamper. To create the look of day to night, I did a sponge gradient using a makeup sponge and several shades of blue. I then did something a little different on each finger, I used glitter to represent the starry sky and gray dots to match the dot designs on the case. Hope you guys like the design, let me know what you think of it!
In September of this year, I had the pleasure of meeting Shot@Life’s Director, Devi Thomas, at Strut The Fashionable Show Mom. It was a gathering of powerful moms, all there to showcase their support of various causes.
As soon as I met Devi, there was no question in my mind: I needed to act. My heart went out to the moms in Mozambique she talked about who walked up to 15 miles to ensure that their children would get their vaccines.
We at LuxMobile are committed to give more children in developing countries the shot at life they deserve. This is why we’ve created this special line of cases, dedicated to help Shot@Life with their mission.
This holiday season, LuxMobile Group is now offering cases with a mission. For every Shot@Life iPhone case sold, we will be donating 20% to Shot@Life. Our hope is that we can do our part to make an impact on the lives of the world’s children.
Be sure to check them out – we even have a customizable one where you can send in a photo of your little one!
